Two Acclaimed Indie Games Coming to Game Pass This Month

October is off to an exciting start for Xbox users with the introduction of three new titles arriving on Game Pass. Additionally, two popular games available in the Ultimate tier will also be accessible in the Standard tier for the first time.

Inscryption and Sifu, both remarkable indie games from 2021 and 2022, respectively, are set to join Game Pass this month. Sifu, launching on October 2, is a unique third-person beat ’em up game that features an intriguing mechanic: each time you die, you respawn as an older incarnation of your character. While this aging process offers new skills, it also comes with the drawback of reduced health. The essence of Sifu is less about battling endless foes and more about personal growth, honing your abilities to become a master of kung fu.

Another title to anticipate is Inscryption, an engaging mix of a deckbuilder, roguelike elements, and escape room puzzles where players find themselves in a cabin facing off against a cryptic gamemaster. Describing the specific elements of this fascinating game without revealing too much is a challenge, but it’s perfect for the eerie atmosphere of Halloween. This game will be available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Standard on October 10.

The highlight of the recent announcements is undoubtedly MLB The Show 24, which is now included in the new Game Pass Standard tier. While Ultimate members will continue to receive new titles on their release day, Standard subscribers can eventually expect to access these games after a few months. Another title transitioning from Ultimate to Standard is Open Roads, available starting October 2.
