Telo, a startup based in Silicon Valley, revealed its truck earlier this year. The vision was to create a vehicle that combines the compactness of a Mini with the cargo capacity of a Hummer. With the launch of their configurator, the truck’s attractive introductory price has been brought to light. They are also accepting pre-orders at a nominal fee of $152.
This compact truck measures 152 inches in length, making it relatively small, comparable to a Mini. This diminutive size might result in some trade-offs regarding interior space. Details on the truck’s interior design and technological features are still scarce, but more information is expected to emerge over the next year.
The MT1 will come in various configurations. The base model is equipped with a single motor generating 300 horsepower, while buyers can opt for a dual motor setup that boosts the output to 500 horsepower. The standard battery provides a range of 260 miles, and for those seeking greater autonomy, a larger battery option is available that extends the range to over 350 miles.
While the exterior design may not be for everyone, it does have a playful aesthetic that some may find appealing. Additionally, the truck features two rows of seating and is available in multiple color options.
It’s essential to remember that the MT1 isn’t available for purchase just yet. As with any new electric vehicle startup, there’s no certainty that the vehicle will reach the market. Telo anticipates starting customer deliveries of the MT1 by late 2025.
