The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a warning ahead of Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024, of potential disruptions and delays to the air traffic.
The Solar eclipse will cross the North American region on April 8. It will pass over Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
The total Solar Eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. The path of the eclipse will impact the territory of the United States from 1830 to 1940 UTC.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also warned the pilots of the possible impacts on air traffic and airport routes at the eclipse paths from April 7 to April 10.
“Pilots should be ready for operational changes and above-average traffic at the airports along the eclipse path.”

- Fort Wayne Airport
- Buffalo Niagara International Airport
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
- Burlington International Airport
- Syracuse Hancock International Airport
- Indianapolis International Airport
The path of the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8 will spread over some states in the United States, including Texas to Maine, affecting several hundred airports within a 50-nautical mile radius.
