Samsung’s Now Bar is an impressive tool that enables users to access notifications, play music, and much more right from the lock screen. With the upcoming One UI 7 release, this feature is set to include Google Maps integration. Currently, this functionality is available for the Galaxy S25 series, but it hasn’t been rolled out to the Galaxy S24 and older models yet.

The Google Maps functionality within One UI 7 has been activated with Google Maps version 25.04.01.717254420, as noted by tech tipster Tarun Vats. Users will now be able to view upcoming turns and other navigation prompts right on their lock screens, simplifying travel in new areas.

The Now Bar can be compared to Apple’s Dynamic Island feature, serving a similar purpose but positioned at the bottom of the lock screen instead of the top. Google has stated that One UI 7 will launch with this feature, likely following shortly after the Galaxy S25’s debut, although Samsung has yet to confirm a specific date for availability.

One UI 7 represents the next step in Samsung’s operating system, bringing new animations and a variety of other enhancements that improve the overall experience. After experiencing several delays and a lengthy beta testing period, the update is on the near horizon. Samsung has not specified an exact launch date, but a recent press release indicated that One UI 7 will be rolled out to all eligible devices by the end of the first quarter of 2025.

The deadline of March 31 is approaching faster than it may appear, so if you’re currently using an older Galaxy S device, hang tight; your update will be arriving soon.
