Get ready to rev those engines! The thrilling demolition derby showdown returns in season 2 of Twisted Metal.
Anthony Mackie, known for donning the Captain America suit, is back as John Doe. This season, John is set to participate in the Twisted Metal tournament organized by the eccentric Calypso, portrayed by Anthony Carrigan. The victor of this chaotic competition will receive a single wish, but the path to glory won’t be easy, as sixteen other ruthless drivers are vying for the same prize. You can catch the intense action this summer in the new season of Twisted Metal.
Twisted Metal season 2 launches on Thursday, July 31, exclusively on Peacock. This release date was unveiled in a playful teaser trailer that humorously showcases Calypso’s dramatically slow entrance into a hangar.
In the teaser, an impatient John exclaims, “Are we seriously going to wait for this door to open all the way?” Quiet, a fellow character, urges him to appreciate the theatrics because it “builds tension.”
At the end of the first season, John discovered that his long-lost sister, the vigilante known as Dollface, is alive. Just as John seeks to leave New San Francisco to be with Quiet, he finds himself confronted by Raven (played by Neve Campbell), who holds him at gunpoint. She reveals her ulterior motive: she wants him to be her driver in the Twisted Metal Tournament.
Season 2 will also feature the return of Sweet Tooth, the sinister killer clown, voiced by Will Arnett, with Joe Seanoa (Samoa Joe) bringing the character to life physically.
The show continues to bring an array of guest stars, including Saylor Bell Curda, Lisa Gilroy, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, and Michael James Shaw.
Produced by showrunner and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith, Twisted Metal is based on the popular vehicular combat video game series of the same name.
If you missed the excitement of season 1, you can stream it now on Peacock.
