Prepare for another adventure in the Lands Between! The Switch 2 version of Elden Ring is set to introduce two exciting new character classes: the Knights of Ides and the Heavy Knight. This announcement came during the FromSoftware Games Event held today in Tokyo. Additionally, players will finally have the option to customize the appearance of their mounts, a feature that had been limited to mods previously.
While specifics about the gameplay mechanics of these new classes were kept under wraps, FromSoftware indicated that these additions will provide players with even more choices and gameplay styles. Based on past experiences with similar titles, we can hypothesize that the Heavy Knight will focus on defense but may be slower, while the abilities of the Knight of Ides remain a mystery.
Players can also look forward to discovering four new sets of armor and weapons scattered throughout the world, along with an assortment of new combat skills.

If you’re not ready to purchase another version of Elden Ring, don’t worry! All the content announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 will also be accessible on other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC. While a release date hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected that the Tarnished Pack will coincide with the launch of the Switch 2 version.
When Elden Ring debuts on the Nintendo Switch 2, it will also feature the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. This version promises to be an excellent entry point for new players, packed with additional content that will likely boost Elden Ring’s already impressive sales figures.
Unfortunately, it appears that Switch 2 players will not have access to Elden Ring: Nightreign. There are no current plans for this multiplayer-focused title to be released on Nintendo’s latest console, though players on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC will be able to experience it starting May 20, 2025.
