Elden Ring: Nightreign is shaping up to be a much-anticipated multiplayer experience, and leaks suggest it may include downloadable content (DLC) featuring extra playable characters and formidable bosses. This information surfaced from a now-deleted line on the Steam page. The rapid removal indicates that this information may have been prematurely disclosed.
As noted by PCGamer, a line at the bottom read, “Additional DLC — Additional playable characters and bosses.” Fans were already speculating that bosses from past Souls games could appear, and this comment opens up the potential for intriguing surprises.
Unlike the original Elden Ring, Nightreign will offer players the chance to use pre-defined characters rather than customizing their own. Potential candidates for play include the Chosen Undead, the Curse Bearer, and the Ashen One, likely represented through their respective concept art. With a focus on multiplayer, it presents a perfect avenue for FromSoftware to incorporate Easter eggs and nods to devoted fans of the series.

Nightreign is expected to diverge from the grand scale seen in Elden Ring. Instead, it may adopt aspects of a roguelike. Players can choose to tackle challenges solo or collaborate with two others to navigate a continuously shrinking battlefield, culminating in a showdown against the primary boss. Each run should last under an hour, with players selecting from eight different character classes.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is set for launch on May 30 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Although FromSoftware recently conducted a network test, many players experienced login issues. The studio has hinted that another testing phase could be on the horizon. If you’re eager to explore what Nightreign has to offer, the network test may be a great opportunity to get a first look.
