A standout addition to the Android experience in recent years is on the verge of receiving some enhancements. Recent investigations by Android Authority have unveiled updates to the Circle to Search function within the Google app, version 16.0.7.
One exciting new feature is “Get Game Help,” designed to aid users during gaming sessions. This feature is triggered by a new chip that promptly initiates a Google search with the query: “Get help with this game.”
Here’s a practical look at this new functionality:
Additionally, Circle to Search will introduce a fresh animation for entering and exiting the tool. When activated, the search bar transitions from a pill shape at the bottom of the screen into a larger form. Upon completing a search, it gracefully reverts back into a pill-shaped “G” icon. The upcoming version enhances this with the search bar smoothly gliding up when starting a search and returning effortlessly to its original position when finished.
You can catch a demonstration of this below.
The animations are reminiscent of how Apple’s Siri operates in iOS 18, don’t you think?
Furthermore, Circle to Search is set to offer three different themes for the search bar: a classic white backdrop, a fresh color-matched theme, and a transparent option.

Initially introduced in January 2024, Circle to Search was exclusive to Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 8 models. It has progressively become available on other devices, including older Pixel models and various other smartphones.
The timeline for the rollout of these updates to Circle to Search remains uncertain.
