Apple Original Films has unveiled the latest trailer for F1, an upcoming action movie featuring Brad Pitt.
In the fast-paced world of racing, Sonny Hayes (Pitt) is often referred to as the “best driver who never made it.” After a devastating accident on the track, Sonny lost his chance at Formula 1 fame and success. Three decades later, a glimmer of hope for redemption appears when his former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now the owner of Apex Grand Prix (APXGP), offers him another opportunity.
With the team in dire straits, Ruben invites Sonny back to APXGP, pairing him with up-and-coming rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), who possesses immense talent but a huge ego. “I’m giving you a shot in Formula 1,” Ruben tells Sonny in the thrilling trailer. “The only place you can prove that if you win, you’re the absolute best in the world.”
Sonny hesitantly accepts the challenge, leading to immediate tension between him and Joshua. While Sonny has the experience to keep pace, his mental resilience will be put to the test when he takes the wheel again.
F1 also features performances by Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 is based on a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, stemming from a story co-created by both Kosinski and Kruger. The duo is known for their successful collaboration on 2022’s blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, which garnered six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won for Best Sound.
The production team includes Pitt, Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Keleiner, Chad Omen, and Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. The film was shot during the 2023 and 2024 Formula One seasons and features actual drivers like Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris.
F1 is set to hit theaters and IMAX screens on June 27, 2025.
