Acer has unveiled two new gaming laptops that feature cutting-edge processors to harness the power of AI. The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI and Helios Neo 18 AI were showcased during a recent Counter-Strike tournament in Poland, as reported by Engadget.
These laptops are equipped with processors capable of reaching up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, enhancing their AI functionalities. Acer envisions the Helios Neo 16 as a portable gaming option, while the Helios Neo 18 aims to serve as a desktop replacement.
The Predator Helios Neo 16 boasts a 16-inch OLED WQXGA display that delivers a 240Hz refresh rate, 400 nits of brightness, full DCI-P3 color gamut, and a rapid 1 ms response time. In contrast, the Helios Neo 18 comes with an 18-inch Mini LED WQXGA display featuring a 250Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a 3 ms response time.
Both models sport sleek and minimalist aesthetics, highlighted by the Helios RGB logo on the back panel, along with a “dynamic 4-zone” RGB keyboard.
The laptops offer substantial hardware capabilities, supporting up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of internal storage. Connectivity options are robust and include Intel Killer Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E. Additionally, features like NVIDIA G-SYNC, Advanced Optimus, and MUX Switch enhance their gaming performance.
For wireless connections, the Helios Neo 16 supports Bluetooth 5.4 or later, while the Helios Neo 18 supports Bluetooth 5.3 or later. Most I/O ports across both devices are similar, and each unit is powered by a 90-watt-hour battery.
The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI is set to launch in North America in April with a starting price of $1,900. Meanwhile, the Helios Neo 18 AI will be available in May, beginning at $2,200. Both models are also slated for release in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in June, with starting prices of €1,700 and €1,800, respectively.
