If you’re looking to boost your laptop’s connectivity, upgrading the Wi-Fi card can make a big difference. While there may not be a lot of discussions on upgrading Wi-Fi cards for specific HP models, I’m here to guide you through the process using the Intel AX200 as the recommended upgrade option.

Accepted Solution
For improving your Wi-Fi capabilities, you can install the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 card. It has a part number of HP L35282-005. This card supports 802.11ax technology and includes Bluetooth 5.0, making it an excellent choice for better performance.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Gather Your Tools: You will need a screwdriver, an anti-static wrist strap (optional but recommended), and the new Wi-Fi card.

  2. Turn Off Your Laptop: Make sure your laptop is completely powered down and unplugged from any power source.

  3. Remove the Back Cover: Use your screwdriver to take off the screws on the back of your laptop. Carefully lift the cover to expose the internal components.

  4. Locate the Existing Wi-Fi Card: Find the current Wi-Fi card on the motherboard. It usually has antennas connected to it.

  5. Remove the Old Card: Disconnect the antennas and unscrew the old Wi-Fi card. Gently slide it out from its slot.

  6. Install the New Wi-Fi Card: Take the Intel AX200 card and insert it into the same slot. Secure it with the screw and reconnect the antennas.

  7. Reassemble Your Laptop: Put the back cover back on and screw it into place.

  8. Power Up Your Laptop: Plug the laptop back in and turn it on. Check to see if the new Wi-Fi card is recognized.

  9. Install Drivers: Go to the Intel website to download and install any necessary drivers for the AX200 card.

It’s worth mentioning that if you’re considering the newer Intel AX210 card, you’ll need the part number M27269-005. However, compatibility might vary, so you may want to verify this with your laptop’s specifications before proceeding.

For more detailed steps, you can refer to the HP service manual that covers various repair processes for HP laptops.

By following these steps, you can easily upgrade your laptop’s Wi-Fi card and enjoy enhanced internet speeds and better connectivity. Happy upgrading!
