If you’re trying to upgrade your HP OmniDesk Slim desktop, here’s a simple guide to help you choose compatible parts and improve its performance.

First, check your power supply. Your PC appears to use a standard 180-watt power supply, which is not a slim-line type. This means you can consider upgrading to a slightly more powerful unit if needed. Look for a 310-watt, 400-watt, or 500-watt power supply that matches your system’s specifications. For example, a 400-watt power supply with part number 942332-001 or L04618-800 should work well. Before buying, double-check the tiny 7-pin power connector (called P2) that connects to the motherboard. It usually has only three wires, so make sure your new power supply’s connector is compatible.

Next, think about adding more RAM. Your current setup likely has only one 8GB RAM stick, but to run games like ARC Raiders smoothly, you should get a second 8GB stick. Doubling your RAM will make a noticeable difference in performance.

Regarding the graphics card, space inside your PC is limited, making it tricky to find something that fits and can handle gaming. A good affordable option is the single-slot NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 LP 6GB card. This card requires a 310-watt power supply, so pairing it with a 400-watt power supply is advisable for extra safety and performance headroom.

As for your processor, your PC has an Intel Core i5-14400, which is quite powerful and better than the older i5-9600K. You probably don’t need to upgrade your CPU right now, but if you want to go further, the Intel Core i7-14700 is the best upgrade for your motherboard series. It’s a step up in performance and is available in higher-end HP OmniDesk models.

By following these steps, you can ensure your desktop is ready for upgrades and gaming. Just remember to double-check all compatibility details before making any purchases.
