If you’re trying to remove reactions from a GitHub discussion or comment, here’s a simple guide to help you do it quickly and easily.
First, open the discussion or comment where the reactions are. You’ll see a line of various emoji reactions beneath the message. These reactions are there to show how others feel about the content.
To remove your reaction, locate the specific emoji you reacted with. You will notice that reactions you’ve added are highlighted or show a different style compared to reactions from others.
Next, click on the same emoji again. Doing this will remove your reaction from that message. This process is straightforward—it’s the same action as adding a reaction, but clicking again removes it.
If you want to change your reaction, simply click the emoji you want to switch to, and your previous reaction will be cleared automatically.
Remember, only reactions you added can be removed by you. If someone else reacted with an emoji, you cannot remove their reaction — only they can do that.
Using this method, you can manage your reactions easily, keeping your responses clear and your interactions smooth. It’s a quick way to let others know how you feel about specific comments or updates without cluttering the message with multiple reactions.
