If you’ve just unboxed your HP5108 printer and the carriage is stuck all the way to the left with an E3 error on the screen, don’t worry. This is a common issue that can usually be fixed with some simple steps.
First, make sure you have turned off the printer and unplugged it from the power source. Wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, a quick reset can clear the error.
Next, check if the carriage is physically stuck or has any debris blocking its path. Gently try to move the carriage to the center by hand. Be gentle to avoid damaging any internal parts. If it moves without resistance, carefully slide it to the middle position.
If the carriage doesn’t budge or feels stuck, open the front cover and look for any obstructions like paper scraps or small objects that might be blocking the movement. Remove anything you find.
After clearing any debris, close the cover securely, and then turn the printer off and on again. If the carriage moves freely to the center during startup and the error clears, you’re all set.
If the error persists after these steps, it might be a mechanical issue or a sensor problem. In that case, contacting HP support or a professional technician for further help would be the best choice.
Remember, patience is key. Most of these issues are simple to fix with a little careful attention.
