Roborock has introduced the Saros 10R, an impressive robot vacuum that boasts increased suction and intelligent navigation capabilities—all packaged in a stylish and accessible dock design. A standout feature of this model is its automatic mop detachment, which allows it to leave the mopping pads in the dock during vacuuming. This ensures that carpets remain dry as it cleans, preventing any unwanted wetness from trailing behind.
Note that this feature is initially turned off. To ensure your carpets stay dry when vacuuming, you’ll need to activate this option in the Roborock app. If your space consists solely of hard floors, you may not need to adjust this setting. However, for homes that feature both carpets and hard surfaces, enabling this function can greatly enhance performance.
Want to keep your carpets dry? Follow these steps to allow your Saros 10R to automatically detach its mops during vacuuming.
How to enable the mop auto-detach feature on the Saros 10R
Activating the mop detaching feature is relatively straightforward, although the Roborock app can be somewhat perplexing with its menu layout. If you're encountering difficulties, here's a quick guide to help you out.
Step 1: Launch the Roborock app on your mobile device.
Step 2: Choose your Saros 10R from the device list and tap Enter.
Step 3: Tap the three-dot icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 4: Select Floor Cleaning Settings from the options.
Step 5: Scroll down to the Auto-Detach/Reinstall Mop Cloth Mounts section.
Step 6: Switch this setting to On.
Step 7: Your robot will now automatically detach its mopping pads when in Vacuum and Vacuum Carpet First modes and will reinstall them when needed for mopping.
Other settings to change if you have carpet in your home
The automatic mopping pad detachment is a significant improvement for households with carpets, but it's not the only setting on the Saros 10R that can enhance its functionality. Here are some additional adjustments you might consider to further optimize your robot's performance on carpeting:
-
In the Floor Cleaning Settings menu, select Carpet Cleaning Setting and choose Rise. This will raise the mopping pads when traveling over carpet.
-
Within the same menu, activate Vacuum Carpet First. This option allows the robot to clean carpets prioritizing them first while keeping the mop dry.
-
If you prefer the robot to avoid carpets entirely, choose Avoid in the Carpet Cleaning Settings menu.
-
Think about modifying the Cleaning Pattern. Setting this to Smart is generally effective for most spaces, although the Clean Along Floor Direction and Mixed Pattern Cleaning options can be beneficial based on your specific carpet type.
