If you’re trying to upgrade your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0600nc to handle more powerful graphics or improve your gaming experience, there are some important things to consider.

First, note that your PC’s current power supply may only be compatible with specific types of units. Still, upgrading to a 650-watt power supply can give you more options. You can find compatible 650-watt power supplies online, such as on eBay, with part numbers like L57253-003 or L36049-003. This upgrade allows you to power smaller-sized graphics cards like certain models of the RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070 Super, or RTX 4060 Ti, all of which are great choices for gaming performance.

However, even with the right power supply, there are some limitations. For example, I tried adding a smaller dual-fan RTX 5070 card to my HP Pavilion TP01-3003w (which shares some hardware similarities), but it didn’t work. This problem isn’t your power supply—it’s a BIOS issue. HP hasn’t released a BIOS update yet that allows these newer Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics cards to function in these platforms. The same problem exists with AMD’s latest RX 9000 series cards.

As of now, there’s no indication that your Victus TG02-0xxx will support these latest graphics cards without a BIOS update. You can look up user benchmarks for your specific PC model to see what users are using with comparable setups. Currently, there are no user reports of the TG02-0xxx platform successfully running RTX 50 series cards.

So, what does this mean if you want better gaming graphics? Upgrading your power supply to 650 watts will let you use smaller-sized cards like the RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4070 Super, or RTX 4060 Ti. Just remember, the biggest hurdle is BIOS compatibility, which HP has yet to address for the newest graphics cards.

From one gamer to another: if gaming is your main goal, I recommend sticking with Nvidia graphics cards. They generally offer better support and performance for gaming on systems like these.

Good luck with your upgrade!
