If you’re trying to create an AWS GovCloud (US) account and your request gets denied, don’t worry. Sometimes, automated systems that prevent fraud can mistakenly block legitimate account requests. The good news is, you can get help from AWS Customer Support to resolve the issue.
When you reach out to support, be ready to share documents proving your eligibility. Specifically, you’ll need to show that your company is a U.S.-based business incorporated to operate within the United States. Additionally, you’ll need to verify that you, as the account owner, are a U.S. citizen or hold an active Green Card. Finally, your company must be capable of handling ITAR-controlled export data.
The automated system may flag your account creation for various reasons beyond these basic criteria. Support staff can review your situation in detail and guide you through the next steps. With their help, you should be able to complete your account setup and get started with AWS GovCloud (US).
