If you’ve just gotten your hands on a new M4 MacBook Air and you’re running macOS Sequoia 15.5, you might be facing an issue with disabling Apple Intelligence. Don’t worry; many users encounter this. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you turn it off.

How to Disable Apple Intelligence on Your M4 MacBook Air

  1. Open System Settings:
Start by clicking on the Apple Menu located in the upper left corner of your screen. From the dropdown, select “System Settings.”

  2. Navigate to Apple Intelligence & Siri:
Within the System Settings window, scroll down and locate “Apple Intelligence & Siri.” Click on this option to access the settings.

  3. Look for the Toggle Switch:
You may be expecting to find an easy toggle switch to turn Apple Intelligence off. If you don’t see this option, you’re not alone—many users report this same issue.

  4. Restart Your Mac in Safe Boot Mode:
To troubleshoot, try restarting your Mac in Safe Boot Mode:

    • Shut down your Mac completely.
    • Turn it back on while holding down the Shift key until you see the login screen.
    • Once logged in, check the Apple Intelligence settings again.
  5. Check for Software Updates:
Sometimes, software glitches can cause problems. Make sure your macOS is up to date:

    • Go back to the Apple Menu and select “System Settings.”
    • Click on “Software Update” and see if any new updates are available. Install them if necessary.
  6. Reset NVRAM/PRAM:
If all else fails, resetting the NVRAM/PRAM might help. Here’s how:

    • Shut down your Mac.
    • Turn it on and immediately press and hold Option, Command, P, and R keys together.
    • Keep holding these keys for about 20 seconds, then release them.
  7. Contact Apple Support:
If you’ve followed all these steps and still can’t turn off Apple Intelligence, it might be time to contact Apple Support for further assistance.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve your issue with Apple Intelligence on your M4 MacBook Air. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any more help!
