If you’re trying to react to messages or posts on a platform like GitHub, you might notice that initially, clicking on the reactions doesn’t work as expected. Here’s a simple guide on how to fix this so you can add your reactions smoothly.

First, you need to ensure that your reaction buttons are functioning correctly. Sometimes, they can get stuck or not respond if there’s a glitch. To troubleshoot, follow these steps:

1. Refresh the webpage – a quickReload can resolve temporary issues. Click the refresh button or press F5 on your keyboard.

2. Clear your browser cache – old data may interfere with how the page works. Go into your browser settings, find the option to clear cache, and restart your browser.

3. Disable browser extensions – some add-ons can block scripts from running properly. Turn off extensions temporarily and check if the reaction buttons work.

4. Update your browser – an outdated browser might not support some site features. Make sure you have the latest version installed.

5. Check your internet connection – a weak or intermittent connection can cause the page’s scripts not to load correctly.

6. If you’re still having issues, try using a different browser or device to see if the problem persists there.

Once your reactions buttons are responsive, you can add reactions like thumbs up, thumbs down, smile, hooray, thinking face, heart, rocket, or eyes. Simply click on the reaction button you want, and your response will be added. If you want to remove your reaction later, just click on the same icon again.

By following these steps, you should be able to react to messages without any issues. If problems continue, consider reaching out to the platform client support to see if there’s a larger issue at play.
