The roster of Fortnite characters has recently undergone a complete overhaul, which has become the norm at the start of each new season. While some familiar characters are making a comeback, there are also new faces to encounter, although the initial roster is noticeably smaller. A new feature has also been introduced: after inflicting enough damage with specific weapon types to unlock their Expertise, players can now directly purchase Legendary versions of these weapons from Shadow Blade Hope, Vengeance Jones, and the soon-to-be-released Ryuji, who will appear northwest of Lost Lake once he is added to the game.
Overall, there are 11 characters scattered throughout the island. Many of the NPCs are located close together, primarily around the central and southern parts of the island. Engaging with these characters will reward you with useful items, the opportunity to buy rare weapons, and the chance to invest in services that give you an advantage over your opponents.
Keep an eye out for Scout, Heavy, Supply, and Medic Specialists, each marked by a distinct icon. They can be hired during matches and offer unique skills, allowing you to use Fortnite commands to deploy them strategically for a tactical edge. Scouts can focus on targets from a distance, Heavies are resistant to fire and can use explosives, Suppliers will keep your ammo stocked, and Medics can heal your wounds or even revive you. Be aware that upcoming quests may require specific characters, so knowing their locations will help you track them down quickly when necessary.
Although these characters no longer provide Fortnite quests, knowing their locations is still beneficial. Interacting with them grants useful items for free, along with options for healing injuries or fighting by your side as bodyguards. To fully utilize their skills, it’s essential to locate these 11 unique NPCs.
Fortnite characters accept payment in the form of gold bars, which can be exchanged for weapons, items, and helpful services. Given the expansive world of Fortnite, you might not come across them easily, but by following my guide to the locations of Fortnite characters, you’ll be interacting with these elusive NPCs in no time.
Where to Find Fortnite Characters in Chapter 6 Season 1
Currently, there are 11 official Fortnite characters. You can track those you’ve interacted with by checking the Characters tab on the Quests screen in-game, accessible through the Collections option in the lobby’s Quests tab. Each character spawns at a specific location, except for Bushranger, who can be located in one of three spots around Nightshift Forest. I’ve marked the locations of all discovered Fortnite characters on the map. Keep in mind that if another player hires or eliminates a character, they will not be available at their location.
Approaching a character will display a speech bubble icon on your map and above their head, making them visible through walls. If they can be recruited, this icon will change to a Hire icon. Interact with them for the first time to add them to your Collection, with a confirmation message appearing on the screen. Here’s a list of where to find all Fortnite characters:
- 1) Bushranger – Nightshift Forest (three possible locations)
- 2) Cinder – Open-Air Onsen (southwest of Demon’s Dojo)
- 3) Helsie – Canyon Crossing (north side)
- 4) Jade – Sakura Plunge (northeast corner of Nightshift Forest)
- 5) Daigo – Masked Meadows
- 6) Mizuki – Lost Lake
- 7) Nyanja – Canyon Crossing (south side)
- 8) Kendo – Sakura Plunge (northeast corner of Nightshift Forest)
- 9) Shadow Blade Hope – Hopeful Heights
- 10) Vengeance Jones – Hopeful Heights
- 11) Vi – Rolling Blossoms Farm (north of Hopeful Heights)
