Heartopia’s first limited-time animal event is here, and it arrived with a sense of urgency—this cute penguin can only be collected until March 14. Every day in the game counts if you want to get close to forming a strong bond with this chilly companion.
This little penguin may look relaxed, but the deadline isn’t. Starting early will help you avoid last-minute rushes and frantic fishing. If you want to collect all penguin-related rewards and give this adorable penguin the attention it needs, planning ahead is the way to go. Here’s how to stay on track and make the most of Heartopia’s most adorable limited-time friend.
Where to Find the Penguin Trough
The penguin trough is located just below the Old Sea area, right before the entrance to the Snow Concert portal peninsula. As you approach the peninsula, look slightly below the Old Sea region, and you’ll spot the trough tucked along the route. It’s easy to miss if you’re focused on the portal itself, so slow down as you near the Snow Concert entrance. Once you find it, you can visit every day without the need to search again.
It’s helpful to mark or pin this spot on your map for quick access later.
What Is the Penguin’s Favorite Food?
Feeding your penguin the right foods is crucial for strengthening your bond. The penguin loves sardines, common shrimp, and false scad.
- Sardines can be caught in any sea, including near the penguin trough, making them the fastest choice if you’re short on time.
- Common Shrimp are found in the East Sea.
- False Scad are located in the Zephy Sea.
All three types of fish can be caught at any time of day or in any weather, so there’s no need to wait for specific conditions. Penguins will accept other fish species too, but these are their favorites.
How to Level Up Your Bond with the Penguin
To improve your bond with the penguin, make sure to feed it daily and interact with it regularly. Each interaction increases the bond level, which can go up to level five. As the bond grows, you’ll unlock special rewards, like penguin statue gifts, along the way.
You can monitor your progress through the Animal app on your in-game watch, making it easy to see how close you are to the next reward level. Consistent attention is key to building a strong relationship with this wintery friend.
