In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, players will accompany Indiana Jones on a quest known as the Cloud Atlas Mystery. This adventure involves exploring a Nazi weather station to discover the secrets of a locked chest hidden within. Throughout the game, various locked chests can be found, each requiring players to solve a specific puzzle for access. Typically, these puzzles take the shape of ciphers, with combinations that must be decoded to reveal the solution.
Set in Gizeh, the Cloud Atlas Mystery is the third stage of the game. Before Indy can begin unraveling the mystery, he must find the locked chest and examine the area for clues. Clues usually come in the form of documents and notes that piece together the information needed to arrive at a resolution.
How To Initiate The Cloud Atlas Mystery
Locate The Weather Station
To locate the Weather Station in Gizeh, head west from the Sphinx Excavation Site, which is in proximity to the Haunting Mystery location. Following the long metallic pipeline will guide you directly to the Weather Station, but proceed with caution as Nazi soldiers will be on patrol.
Stealthily advance towards the station, picking up an improvised weapon along the way to deal with the Nazi Commander. It’s advisable to approach the Weather Station from the north, near the “Achtung!” sign, to gain a strategic advantage.
Eliminate the Nazi Commander initially, as he carries a whistle that can summon reinforcements.
Once you’ve dealt with the Nazi Commander, you can enter the Weather Station and dispatch the soldier inside. Be sure to conceal their bodies to avoid drawing the attention of search parties. After neutralizing the soldiers, return to the Weather Station to locate the locked chest, which will trigger the Cloud Atlas Mystery.
Unlocking the Chest Code
Consult the Cloud Atlas & Cloud Status
To solve the Cloud Atlas Mystery, go to the room opposite the chest and search for the documents labeled ‘Cloud Atlas Page’ and ‘Cloud Status Logbook’. These documents contain vital information to decode the chest’s combination, similar to puzzles encountered in The Vatican City. You’ll need to note the times at the bottom of the Cloud Atlas Page and cross-reference them with the Cloud Status Logbook to identify the correct clouds. The recorded times are 13, 09, 16, and 14.

Referring back to the Cloud Status Logbook, the times correlate to 13 as Cirrus, 09 as Stratus, 16 as Cirrus, and 14 as Cumulonimbus. With this information, check the Cloud Atlas Page to find the corresponding numbers for these clouds. Cirrus is 0, Stratus is 6, Cirrus is 0, and Cumulonimbus is 9. Therefore, the code to unlock the chest is 0609.
With the code ready, return to the chest and enter the numbers into the lock. Upon opening, you’ll discover money and the Gizeh Medicine exploration book, which reveals the locations of all medicine bottles on the map within Gizeh. Unfortunately, no Adventure Books can be found in this area, but one will be available at the conclusion of the Fortune’s Reach Mystery. Now that you’ve completed the Cloud Atlas Mystery, feel free to continue exploring Gizeh in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
