Unlocking the Barrier of Gold Incantation in *Elden Ring*
The Barrier of Gold is a powerful incantation designed for the champions of the Erdtree, offering the caster and their nearby allies protection against magical attacks in *Elden Ring*. It played a significant role during the initial Liurnian wars, where it was bestowed upon Radagon to strengthen his campaigns against sorcerers.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to acquire the Barrier of Gold Incantation and provide tips on utilizing it effectively in both PvP and PvE encounters.
Where to Find the Barrier of Gold
To obtain the Barrier of Gold, you must defeat an invisible Teardrop Scarab located in Royal Capital Leyndell.
Start your journey at the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace, where you faced Godfrey, the First Elden Lord. Exit the hall on the west side and follow the path down to discover a small room with an elevator.
Note: You cannot acquire the Barrier of Gold from the Ashen Capital after burning the Erdtree and progressing to Crumbling Farum Azula.
Take the elevator down and head forward until you reach a large staircase. Descend further to encounter a formidable Crucible Knight positioned on a balcony. Be prepared, as this enemy is quite challenging.
Upon defeating the knight, move forward to find golden patterns on the floor. The most effective way to eliminate the Teardrop Scarab is by employing an Area of Effect (AoE) attack. Once you successfully defeat the scarab, you will automatically acquire the Barrier of Gold incantation.
Barrier of Gold: Stats and Requirements
To cast the Barrier of Gold, you need 24 Faith and 13 Stamina. This incantation enhances your magic damage resistance by 60% in PvE scenarios and 20% during PvP battles.
The Barrier of Gold lasts for 70 seconds and is essential for battles against magic-wielding bosses.
Keep in mind that Barrier of Gold does not stack with Erdtree Protection spells, as both are classified as buff magic. However, it does work in conjunction with the Golden Vow incantation.
