On a sunny tropical island, fishing is a natural activity! Luckily, Hello Kitty Island Adventure enables you to indulge in this pastime. By completing a mini quest for Badtz-maru, you can obtain a fishing rod and catch different types of fish scattered around the islands.
This guide will cover everything you need to know about the fishing mechanics in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. We’ll discuss how to unlock fishing and list all the fishes available in the game. Let’s start with the quest you’ll need to complete to begin your fishing adventure.
How to Unlock Fishing
To get started with fishing, you need to increase your friendship level with Badtz-maru to level three. This is pretty manageable as it’s a low-level friendship requirement.
After achieving this friendship level, you can complete the quest Keep It Reel. This task is straightforward; you will need to craft a fishing rod using the required materials:
- 10x Sticks
- 3x Thread
- 1x Gizmo
Sticks can be found throughout the island, while Thread is obtained from Tuxedosam when you offer him gifts. In addition, Gizmos are provided by Chococat in exchange for gifts.
After crafting the rod at Chococat’s workbench, return to the docks with Badtz-maru to receive a brief fishing tutorial.
How to Fish
With your rod ready, head to the water and cast your line by pressing the fishing icon located on the right side of your screen. The line will be cast near any fish you see, making it easier to spot them swimming.
After a few moments, you might see a fish approach. If everything goes as planned, it should bite; at that moment, tap the fishing icon again. Now, you’ll need to tap the arrows that appear to the left and right.
Your aim is to keep the line centered by tapping in the opposite direction that it’s leaning. It’s best to keep your taps gentle. If it sways too far to one side, it won’t be easy to steer it back to the center.
You can also add bait to your line to attract more fish.
