Climbing the ranks in Marvel Rivals’ competitive mode can earn you exclusive rewards, but you’ll need to demonstrate your skills through tough matches against players of comparable abilities. The ranked system begins you at the Bronze III level, and each victory helps you earn points to advance through the ranks and divisions. Remember, teamwork is more important than individual performance—losing matches can lead to point loss and potential demotions, so collaboration is essential. This guide covers everything you need to know about ranked mode in Marvel Rivals, including the ranks, rules, restrictions, and rewards.
Marvel Rivals Ranked Split Date
The current ranked split for Marvel Rivals, marking the first half of Season 1, will conclude on February 21, 2025, at 4 PM GMT (8 AM PST / 1 PM EST). Your rank will remain unchanged, and if you meet the requirements, you will receive the rewards listed at the end of this guide.
Marvel Rivals Competitive Ranks
Upon reaching level 10, you will gain access to Marvel Rivals’ Competitive ranked mode. This mode features intense, multi-round matches where successful participants earn points to showcase their abilities and advance through the ranks. There are a total of 23 skill divisions within nine different ranks in the Competitive mode, each with specific rules like rank decay and hero bans.
Here are all the ranks and divisions in Marvel Rivals Competitive mode:
- Bronze III, II, I
- Silver III, II, I
- Gold III, II, I
- Platinum III, II, I
- Diamond III, II, I: In matches where all players are Diamond III or above, each team can ban two Marvel Rivals characters from selection.
- Grandmaster III, II, I
- Celestial III, II, I
- Eternity: Not participating for an extended period at this level will result in gradual rank point loss, risking demotion.
- One Above All: Reserved for the top 500 players. Similar to Eternity, not competing for a while will result in point loss and potential demotion.
Winning a match grants you rank points, and achieving win streaks or being the MVP can boost your gains. Conversely, losing matches leads to a decrease in rank points.
For every 100 points you accumulate, you advance to the next division. However, losing too many points can result in a demotion. Chrono Shields can help prevent demotions, but they are limited and must recharge after use. Additionally, at the beginning of each new season, every player will drop six divisions, requiring you to work your way back up for new rewards.
If you’re keen on teaming up with friends in Marvel Rivals, be mindful of the intricate queueing restrictions, especially at the higher ranks:
- Crossplay between PC and consoles is unavailable in competitive matches. Xbox and PlayStation players can play together, but PC users will not be able to join them, and vice versa.
- Players in Bronze, Silver, and Gold can queue together without restrictions.
- Players from Gold I to Celestial I may only queue together if they are within a three-division range. For instance, a Platinum II and a Diamond III can team up, but a Gold I player would not be able to join, as this creates a range of four divisions.
- Players ranked Eternity and One Above All can join with Celestial II and I players if the difference in their total rank points is under 200.
