Exploring the skies in Aloft is undeniably enjoyable, especially as you navigate between islands and discover archipelagos. However, as you gather resources, you’ll find that not everything can be used in its unprocessed form when you return to your home island.
To break down your gathered materials in Aloft, it’s essential to locate recipes for various machines, which are hidden within knowledge stones found across different biomes. Every biome presents unique materials and recipes that can later be combined in your crafting endeavors.
Utilize Machinery to Process Resources and Enhance Your Island
As you explore new islands across various biomes in Aloft, you will encounter knowledge stones that reveal new machine recipes. Most of the initial resources can be found on the Emerald Isles, the starting point of your adventure. Keep venturing into uncharted regions, and you’ll discover a variety of new resources. When you obtain a new resource, the corresponding machine recipe to process it is often close by.
When you’re ready to convert these resources into usable materials back on your home island, use the focus wheel for speedier crafting. Press the F key when the moving triangle is located within the white area of the meter. Machines process resources slowly on their own, but once you’ve uncovered the blueprint for it in the Fallen Heights biome, you should also build windmills to automate your machinery.
After processing your goods, remember to collect the finished products from the storage bar at the bottom of the machine interface, or else they won’t make it into your inventory. If you discover that you’re missing resources, visit your workbench to explore new crafting options, especially if you’ve recently acquired new materials.
