The Sewers
Once you’ve created your character, the game begins in a prison cell. Wait until the guards come by and then approach the window to prompt them to unlock your cell. When they enter, converse with the guards and the Emperor, and then follow them through the newly opened passage.
Your first task is simple: follow the guards until assassins attack. Avoid the fight, and once it ends, loot Captain Renault’s body for a sword and a torch. As you descend the stairs, be cautious of the rats that will break through to the southeast.
Equip your sword and eliminate the rats, then navigate to the east end of the cavern to find a skeleton with a bow and shield. Search his body for lockpicks and open the nearby chest for gold, then head to the southeast corner where you’ll find a goblin shaman’s corpse. Take the iron key found on him and proceed through the wooden door next to his body.
Continue down the corridor to a spacious area adorned with wooden pillars. In the center, you will find scattered bones and some useful items like a helmet and shield.
After gathering supplies, ascend the stairs and move towards the wooden door leading to the Natural Caverns. Traverse through the caves until you encounter a goblin cooking a rat. Sneak up on him, then push a pile of logs on the hill to crush the goblins below.
Once you clear that area, you’ll find a large cavern with a fire at the center. Dispatch the remaining goblins and check the fenced area to the north for a chest containing an iron sword. Move up the ramp to the northeast, pass through a wooden door, and through another opening in the wall to reunite with the Emperor and Baurus. Allow the guards to handle any assassins that appear.
When you reach the iron gate, you’ll backtrack to a dead end where the Emperor hands you the Amulet of Kings. Speak with Baurus about delivering it to Jauffre, select your preferred classes, then hop through the narrow opening beside the Emperor’s body and follow the corridor to the wooden door.
Jump down into the sewers and navigate the hallway, taking the short stairway to your right. Battle through the rats in the next room, then head up the stairs on the left and through the iron gate. Proceed northeast until you finally break out into the fresh air. Now, make your way west to Weynon Priory, where you can find Jauffre waiting.
Weynon Priory
Upon arrival, enter the Weynon House and engage with the monk inside. He’ll inform you that Jauffre is upstairs. If it’s nighttime, you might have to wait until morning for Jauffre to appear. Once you talk to him, inform him about the Emperor’s fate. He’ll send you to Kvatch in search of the Emperor’s son, Martin, who is currently serving as a priest in the Chapel of Akatosh.
Breaking the Siege of Kvatch
When you arrive in Kvatch, look for Savlian Matius near the glowing Oblivion Gate. Speak with him regarding Martin, and he’ll express his belief that Martin is still alive inside the gate, asking for your assistance. Agree to help and step through the gate.
Inside, you’ll find Ilend Vonius ahead. Assist him against the Stunted Scamps, or let him perish, allowing you to loot his body afterward. Make your way northwest and follow the path north until you reach the large doors leading to the Bloodfeast. Defeat the enemies within and proceed into the Rending Halls, taking advantage of the fountain to restore your health.
Follow the corridor back to the Bloodfeast, clear it of enemies, and head up the ramp. You will encounter the Dremora Sigil Keeper, defeat him, and claim the Sigil Key. a conversation with the captive in the cage will reveal he needs the key.
Retrace your steps to the Corridor of Dark Salvation and use the key to unlock the Citadel Hall door. Proceed to the next door leading back to the Bloodfeast. Ascend the ramp to find a glowing portal, activate it, and you will reappear outside the gates of Kvatch. Speak with Matius to get a status update, then help clear out the remaining foes in the streets.
Afterward, head into the church on the right and locate Martin. Inform him that he must come with you to the Priory, and he will agree.
