Wulfgard is known for being a smooth talker and an even better Heat damage dealer. Once you recruit him in Arknights: Endfield, he quickly becomes a fan favorite because of his design, combat skills, and overall attitude. He’s tough to beat if you decide to Headhunt him!
If you’re building an elemental team, Wulfgard is an excellent pick, especially if your strategy involves Heat. Deploy him in battle, and you’ll see enemies catch fire and burn away.
### Best Wulfgard Weapons and Essence
You’ll meet Wulfgard fairly early in the main story of Arknights: Endfield. To get this five-star caster on your team, you’ll need to Headhunt him. Once you have him, you’ll gain access to one of the top Heat users in the game.
Wulfgard wields a variety of powerful handcanon weapons that showcase his ability with heat. He’s especially useful in teams that rely on elemental reactions, where elements like fire and electricity interact to produce strong effects. Wulfgard is not only a team player but also capable of handling himself in combat with his Strength and Agility—traits fitting for a wolf.
One of Wulfgard’s key strengths is how well he fits into many team compositions. His ability to cause Combustion makes him valuable, whether he’s actively fighting or providing support. He can deal Arts damage and push enemies back efficiently.

| Weapon Name | Rarity | Stat Boosts | Description |

| Clannibal | Six-Star | Strength, Arts Damage, Attack Boost | Focuses on conduction, boosting damage when Wulfgard uses his Battle Skill, ideal as a primary DPS.|

### Wulfgard’s Gear Sets
While getting the best gear can be challenging, the Hot Work set is Wulfgard’s top choice. It enhances Heat damage after applying Combustion or Corrosion but isn’t easy to acquire. Until then, use common gear pieces that boost Strength and Heat damage to maximize his effectiveness.
| Gear Set | Best Pieces | Bonus Effect |
|——————|———————————–|——————————————————————————|
| Hot Work | Specific gear pieces (not listed) | Heat damage +50% for 10 seconds after applying Combustion or Corrosion. |
| MI Security | General gear bonus | Increases Critical Rate +5%. |
| Aburrey | Heavy Armor + Auditory Chip x2 | Attack +5% for 15 seconds after casting skills. |
| Armored MSGR | Not specified | +50 to Strength. |
### Best Teams and Synergies
Wulfgard doesn’t come free but pairs well with several free-to-play and four-star operators, making him one of the most powerful early-game elemental DPS options.
A strong team combo features Antal, Perlica, and Arclight. Perlica’s electric abilities complement Wulfgard’s heat, while Antal boosts both heat and electric damage. Arclight can double-down on electric infliction, ensuring enemies catch fire and burn effectively. If you manage to get Laevatain from the first banner, she makes an incredible teammate for Wulfgard as well.
If you’re missing specific operators, Akekuri can be substituted temporarily until you Headhunt the ideal character, as she can fit into many team compositions to help bridge any gaps.
### Wulfgard’s Abilities and Upgrades
Wulfgard is primarily a strong damage dealer, but optimizing his abilities can be tricky. His basic attack fires four heat blasts with a final stagger hit. His Battle Skill inflicts more heat damage and can do extra damage based on enemy reactions like Combustion or Electrification. His Combo Skill fires a grenade exploding on impact, dealing heat damage and inflicting heat, especially effective against already electrified or burning enemies. His Ultimate hits five times with heat damage and always triggers Combustion regardless of team setup.
To maximize Wulfgard’s damage, upgrade his skills evenly, focusing first on his Battle Skill—especially when used with heat/electric teams. Upgrading his Combo Skill and Ultimate also boosts overall damage potential. His first Talent increases heat damage, and his second recovers SP when reactions are inflicted, making him more powerful the more enemies are affected.
By carefully selecting and upgrading his skills, Wulfgard can be a reliable source of heat damage, especially in elemental teams designed to trigger reactions efficiently.
