Resident Evil Requiem begins with plenty of movie-style footage, but it doesn’t take long before you jump into some classic gameplay. At the start, Leon spends his time shooting enemies, while Grace Ashcroft is thrown straight into traditional Resident Evil puzzles.
After being kidnapped, Grace wakes up strapped to an upside-down gurney. Once she frees herself, you can start working on the fuse task. After leaving the room, follow these steps:
- Turn right to walk down a long hallway with a horse statue at the end.
- Take the left at the end of the hallway to find the fuse box.
- Continue to the end of the hall to open a drawer.
Along this route, you’ll pass doors for the Nurses’ Station, Room 202, and Room 201, but there’s no need to go into them yet.
In the drawer, you’ll find a Cherub key that opens a nearby door. Go back past the fuse box and use the key to open the first door you find on your way back — Room 201.
Inside that room, in the back corner, there’s another fuse box. This one holds the fuse you need, but it’s locked, and you’ll need a screwdriver to open it.
Where to Find the Screwdriver
Leave Room 201 and head to Room 202. The room is dark and tricky to navigate, but if you go to the closet, you’ll see a note taped to a box. It says the screwdriver is in the toolbox at the nurses’ station.
Go back to the hallway (you’ll pass the locked Nurses’ Station again). Enter through the door at the far end from where you started.
This area is also dark, but if you turn right after entering and go through the next door, you’ll find the Nurses’ Station. You may encounter enemies along the way, so be cautious. Use items like bottles to distract enemies, but try to save them for later.
Inside the Nurses’ Station, move the cart carefully—it makes noise and can attract enemies. Position it in front of the toolbox on the top shelf (shown on the map), then climb onto the cart to access it. Explore the room thoroughly; you might find other useful items.
Open the toolbox to get the screwdriver. Return to Room 201 afterwards. If an enemy is blocking your way, use a bottle to distract it and slip past. Staying crouched and quiet can help you avoid detection, but if an enemy spots you, start running.
Restoring Power
Once back in Room 201:
- Unscrew the fuse box and take out the fuse.
- Go back to the hallway fuse box.
- Insert the fuse to restore power and open the security gate.
If you’re being chased, do this as quickly as possible. Once the fuse is inserted, a cutscene will trigger, signaling that you’ve completed this part and are ready for the next stage of the story.
The fuse box puzzle in Resident Evil Requiem is straightforward but can be tricky the first time due to limited visibility, especially if your gamma settings are dark. After some practice, you’ll just need to avoid a few enemies and focus on where to look, and you’ll be onto the next part of the game.
