Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor involves a lot of quick decisions that impact your success. Upgrading your skills and mastering movement are crucial to staying alive and progressing effectively.
Choosing the right gear is another important choice, but it’s not urgent. You gather gear during a run, then decide what to equip between missions. This gives you plenty of time to plan and select the best gear for your strategy.
Gear Drops Are Mostly Random
In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, gear drops are mostly left to chance. Most runs will reward you with gear, although some situations offer more reliable gear drops. You can increase your chances by aiming to extend each stage, taking on enemies with weapons suited for large groups, and boosting your movement speed to stay longer in levels.
Increase Gear Level by Completing Milestones
The quality of gear you receive depends on your hazard level before starting a mission and how much you’ve upgraded your Gear Level through milestones. Upgrading gear level can be achieved by completing high-difficulty Dives, using different Class Mods, finishing Masteries, and other in-game activities.
Missions That Always Reward Gear
Certain missions always give gear upon completion, though they aren’t easy to farm repeatedly.
- Vanguard Contracts: Daily missions that reward gear, featuring random mutators each time.
- Lethal Operations: Weekly missions with tough mutators, offering more credits and higher-tier gear.
While these missions aren’t the best for consistent farming, they guarantee gear of a certain quality over time, making them a steady way to build up your inventory.
