If you’ve ever played a regular football game or just know about soccer firsthand, you’ll need to change how you think about scoring in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road. While teamwork is still key to beating your opponents and winning, scoring goals can be tricky if you’re new to this game.
The game doesn’t give many hints about how to score until you get past Chapter Four, which can make the early matches feel really tough. Don’t worry—it’s not about your skill level; it’s about understanding how the mechanics work. Here’s a simple breakdown.
How to Deplete a Goalkeeper’s KP
Scoring goals easily in this game is less about aiming perfectly or taking open shots—though those help. The main point is that you need to drain the goalkeeper’s KP (Keeper Points) so your shot can go in.
Every time you shoot at the goal and make the goalkeeper save, you lower their KP. To do this effectively, you should:
- Shoot from tight angles
- Aim for the corners of the goal
- Use special abilities to boost your attack power, which will reduce the goalkeeper’s KP faster
When the goalkeeper’s KP hits zero, your shot scores no matter what. Some shots drain KP quicker and help you score more goals in less time.
Tip: Focus on players with high Kick stats because their shots cause more damage to the goalkeeper’s KP.

How to Score Using Shot Chains
Once you select your starting team, the game introduces a mechanic called Shot Chains. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t explain this well initially, but it’s a crucial tool for scoring.

To perform a Shot Chain:
- Use the Zone mechanic to slow down time.
- Choose a special shot based on your character or pass to a teammate.
Passing doesn’t increase your attack power much, but targeting teammates and using a Special Move to pass the ball will build up your Attack rating. This helps drain the goalkeeper’s KP faster.
To actually trigger a Shot Chain:
- Target a teammate first.
- Select a Special Move to pass the ball to them.
- React within about five seconds by aiming for the goal and chaining another Special Move from the receiver’s side.
- This sends a powerful shot towards the net.
Failing to react in time will cause the ball to miss, wasting your chance.
As you advance past Chapter Five, you’ll unlock the ability to perform pre-made Shot Chains called Special Moves. The first one available is Spring Thunderclap.
Extra Tip: Using certain offensive tactics during gameplay can also increase the damage dealt to the goalkeeper’s KP.
