In Greedfall 2: The Dying World, players won’t find traditional classes to select. However, the game’s stats and skills guide you toward distinct playstyles. From the outset, your character specializes in a particular aspect of combat.

The leveling system is quite flexible, allowing you to build your warrior exactly how you’d like. Still, some decisions can lead to an easier experience than others. Here, we will suggest the optimal stat and skill choices for a smoother adventure in the game.

Keep in mind that Greedfall 2 is currently in Early Access, meaning some details may change significantly as the game develops.

Best Character Profile

After customizing your character’s appearance, you’ll choose a profile. While these are a bit like character classes, they provide more flexibility than traditional systems.

In addition to full customization, you can select from the following character profiles:

Protector	The tank This is a classic tank profile, complete with provoke abilities, a tanking stance, and melee weapon skills. Our verdict: Ideal for players who enjoy taking on the tank role, which can be quite rewarding in the game.
Hunter	The archer This ranged profile focuses on support attacks rather than pure damage output with its initial loadout. Our verdict: While this profile has a solid foundation, it may not be the best choice early on. Starting with a stronger profile can facilitate a smoother transition into a support role later.
Doneigad	The green mage Similar to the Hunter, but with magical attacks instead of traditional ranged weapons. Our verdict: The same conclusion as the Hunter profile.
Wild Fighter	The berserker This offense-driven profile starts with an axe, trading some defense for greater offensive capabilities and includes an area-of-effect attack. Our verdict: Melee builds currently offer the most engaging and satisfying combat, making this a great entry point for that playstyle.
Elite Shooter	The sniper This is a more aggressive version of the Hunter, swapping supportive abilities for damage buffs. Our verdict: While ranged combat can feel somewhat sluggish, if you prefer picking off foes from a distance, this is a solid choice.
Spell Caster	The black mage A more offensive variant of the Doneigad, this profile sacrifices survivability for increased damage, while also gaining the Breath of Life spell. Our verdict: Among spellcaster profiles, this one provides a strong base.
Guide	The herbalist This profile serves as a melee support character, featuring First Aid and Good Samaritan’s Stance, which is crucial for allies in tough battles. Our verdict: Melee support is quite specialized. We don’t recommend this option.
Scout	The support A ranged attacker with support abilities. With just one skill point away from healing with First Aid, this profile excels as a support character without needing further enhancements. Our verdict: If you’re aiming to be a support character, this is an excellent choice.
Healer	The white mage A straightforward healing mage, this profile embodies the magical healer archetype. Our verdict: While support magic and healing complement each other, this character may be quite fragile. Instead, we recommend the Scout profile.

These character profiles cover various roles, including melee, ranged, and magical options for offensive support, damage dealing, and defensive assistance. For this reason, we advise against using the Free Creation option to design your character.

Instead, we recommend the following:

If you want to be the tank, select the Protector profile.
If you prefer a melee damage dealer, go for the Wild Fighter profile.
If you’re interested in using a bow, opt for the Scout profile.
If magic is your focus, choose the Spell Caster profile.

These profiles are well-fitted as starting points, allowing for smooth progression throughout the game. Ultimately, your choice will depend on your preferred playstyle and objectives.
