Throughout your run in Megabonk, you’ll come across various shrines scattered around the map. However, for newcomers, it might not always be clear what each shrine does. Some provide buffs and rewards, while others increase the challenge or summon a boss to fight.

Knowing which shrines are worth activating early on is crucial. During your initial runs, it’s best to focus on shrines that simply give buffs or items. These include:

Charge Shrines
Moai Shrine
Microwave
Bandit Shrine

Shrines are placed randomly on the map. To unlock one, you either need to interact directly with it or stand close enough to charge it. Once unlocked, they offer different effects—either granting benefits like power-ups, items, buffs, or summoning bosses, or even imposing a debuff.

New players should avoid certain shrines like Challenge Shrines, Boss Curse, Greed Shrines, and Suspicious Bush, especially if they want to avoid extra enemies or negative effects.
