In Arc Raiders, you’ll come across many different materials as you explore the wasteland. These items vary in shape and purpose, so you’ll need to gather a lot of different things along the way. One important resource is Motors, which are used to upgrade your Refiner to level 3.
Unlike some other crafting resources, there are some great locations to farm Motors that you might overlook because they fall under the Industrial material category. Here are the best spots to search for Motors and avoid unnecessary trouble.
Where to Find Motors
Motors are classified as Industrial materials, meaning they can appear in any location marked with a factory icon on your map. Some of the most promising spots to find Motors include:
- Warehouse at The Blue Gate
- Water Treatment and Power Generation Complex at Dam Battlegrounds
- Vehicle Maintenance at Spaceport
Of these, Vehicle Maintenance tends to be the most reliable place to find Motors. This is because Motor spawns often favor vehicle engines like cars, trucks, or buses. While this isn’t highlighted in the tooltip for Motors, they seem to be strongly linked to vehicles, which makes sense given what they are.
Because of this connection, I recommend always searching any vehicle you find—especially if you can breach it. Locations with lots of searchable vehicles are also prime spots for finding Motors. It doesn’t matter if these locations are primarily Industrial materials; I’ve had great luck in some unconventional areas too.
Top Locations to Search for Motors
The three best spots I suggest searching are:
- The highway slicing through the middle of Buried City
- The underground tunnel in The Blue Gate
- The Checkpoint in The Blue Gate
The Checkpoint area has been especially productive for me. It’s exposed, but there are tons of searchable vehicles all around. I managed to find all three Motors I needed with just one run by searching every car and bus I came across.
Note: While the Checkpoint is excellent for Motors, beware of frequent ARC patrols that pass through this area.
Additional Tips
Alternatively, the highway in Buried City is another excellent place to farm Motors. It’s elevated and safer compared to other areas. Though it doesn’t have as many cars as the Checkpoint, you can still find a good number of vehicles to breach while walking down the road.
For the best results, try visiting these locations during a Night Raid if your combat skills are strong. The chances of finding valuable materials increase significantly at night, making the extra risk worthwhile if you want to complete your farm in one run.
