Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 follows the journey of Henry of Skalitz as he moves from the rustic lands of Bohemia to the bustling medieval city of Kuttenberg amidst the chaos of war. Early on, players will need to secure a horse to navigate the expansive terrain. This sequel offers several key enhancements over its predecessor: improved graphics, various quality-of-life upgrades, and, of course, an array of new weapons for Henry to wield.
However, before Henry’s circumstances improve, they take a turn for the worse. Setting off for Trosky Castle with Hans Capon, everything swiftly spirals out of control. Henry finds himself stripped of his clothes, weapons, and money. To make matters worse, he loses his loyal horse, Pebbles, at the very beginning of the game. You’ll want to reunite Henry with his horse as soon as possible.
Where to Find a Free Horse
Pebbles Shows Up at a Nearby Stable
After barely escaping a bandit ambush with Hans, the duo receives assistance from a herbalist residing in the woods. Trouble seems to follow them, leading to their imprisonment in Troskowitz stocks. Upon gaining your freedom, you’ll meet your first NPC, Bara, who informs Henry that the nearest stable is located in Semine, southwest of Troskowitz.
To reach Semine, Henry can stick to the main road heading southwest from Troskowitz. At the fork near a shrine, take the right path and continue southwest, while steering clear of the forest. Eventually, he’ll come across a substantial fortress guarded out front. Go through the archway, allowing the guard to check you if necessary, and make your way to the stables. Once inside, you’ll receive a prompt to look in the field, where Henry will spot Pebbles.
How to Get the Horse for Free
Henry Doesn’t Have to Pay to Retrieve Pebbles
Now that Henry has located Pebbles, it’s time to reclaim him. Engage with Groom Ballatay and choose the dialogue option saying, "Pebbles!" Henry has two avenues to recover Pebbles without cost. Achieving this requires a Speech skill level of 7, but if you fall short, you can either pay 150 Groschen or negotiate a lower price.
If Henry hasn’t developed his Speech skill sufficiently, you can increase the chances of success by enhancing his appearance. Securing some stylish clothes or shiny armor from a merchant or through combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will make Ballatay more inclined to believe Henry and hand over Pebbles without a fee.
With the right approach, finding Pebbles and returning to their adventures will set Henry on the right path as he navigates the challenges ahead.
