In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, many quests come in multiple parts, with some extending all the way to part Z. As you progress, you’ll encounter a range of captivating characters and help them with various tasks. A Hermit can be found in the woods after a few hours of gameplay, and you’ll need to return to him with crucial information.
When you return, you discover that things aren’t straightforward. The objective shifts to finding out the truth about the Hermit. You speak with some soldiers who reveal the truth about the man claiming to be the Hermit. Now, you must decide how to deal with this situation. While he may not be a good person, you might need to protect the Hermit to obtain the information about the stolen sword.
How to Prevent Konrad the Hermit From Attacking You
After discussing the matter with the soldiers, head to Konrad’s camp. The plan is to sneak in and move to the right, setting fire to a straw pile to draw the Hermit out of the area.
You can choose to confront the Hermit openly, or sneak up beside him to remain undetected. However, there’s a more effective way to get the information you need while keeping the Hermit safe, at least for a while.
Your goal is to walk casually into Konrad’s vicinity until he notices you. When he asks who you are, clarify that you just want information about the sword.
Do not rush at him, as he will attack you on sight without giving you a chance to explain.
When prompted, assure him that you’re not his enemy and are “just trying to get answers,” which will allow you to approach him for a discussion. Again, take it slow. You’ll have the opportunity to inquire about the location of Ambrose’s sword. If you can’t talk to him, your only option left is to eliminate him and loot his hut. For this, you’ll need good lockpicking skills and some lockpicks.
How to Save the Hermit
Once you’ve approached him, you will have the chance to either assist Konrad or engage him in combat. To save him, ally with him and defeat the other soldiers you initially agreed to help. The fight will be two against three, so ensure you’re strong enough to prevail. While it’s simpler to eliminate Konrad, killing the others means you can save the Hermit.
After getting the location of the sword from him, you can choose to agree to kill Konrad. This is the most straightforward choice.
How to Find the Sword
Once you have the sword’s location, follow the objective marker up the hill behind the Hermit’s camp and continue straight until you reach a meadow.
The sword will be buried on a grave to the right as you enter the meadow, beneath a small tree. Retrieve it, and your quest will be completed.
