Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that its upcoming Housemarque action game, Saros, will support PS5 Pro PSSR 2 right from launch. The game is set to release on April 30 with robust enhancements for the PS5 Pro, but Sony has also shared details about improvements for the standard PS5.
With the upgraded PSSR technology, PS5 Pro players can enjoy crisper visuals. On the PlayStation Blog, Housemarque mentioned that the game’s graphics are “hard to distinguish from native 4K” when exploring the world of Carcosa.
Saros also boasts a higher base render resolution on the PS5 Pro, leading to sharper images at 60 frames per second. Although the game uses dynamic resolution scaling to maintain a smooth framerate during intense combat, the PS5 Pro consistently offers a noticeably clearer picture in side-by-side comparisons.
On the standard PS5, Saros maintains a steady 60 fps, but during significant story cinematic scenes, the framerate drops to 30 fps on both consoles. Housemarque prioritized visual quality during cutscenes, focusing on character detail over a higher framerate.
Both consoles deliver immersive 3D audio, realistic adaptive trigger responses during combat and weapon handling, haptic feedback, and lightning-fast loading times.
Saros is now available for pre-order.
