Sony has quietly rolled out another update for the PS5 PS Store alongside recent user interface changes. Similar to the UI upgrade, these modifications are currently available only to select users in various regions around the world. This isn’t a beta release and doesn’t require any program enrollment.
In the latest update, players noticed a revamped “Browse” tab where the “Recently Released” category has been moved to the top. Instead of traditional game thumbnails, this section now features large, playable video icons. Each icon is accompanied by relevant tags and a brief one-line description of the game.
A Reddit user shared a screenshot showcasing the new look, highlighting the visual shift. There are unverified reports suggesting that these video trailers might auto-play when players hover over them, but since the update isn’t widespread enough for everyone to test, this hasn’t been confirmed. It’s also unclear whether these changes are exclusive to certain parts of the store or if they’re being applied across all sections.
Previously, players had to navigate to a game’s specific PS Store page to access detailed information, but now that info appears upfront with the new layout.
Both the PS5 UI and PS Store updates have been gradually rolling out over the past week. Sony has not officially commented on the update, and the rollout pattern remains uncertain. So far, it’s confirmed that these updates aren’t limited to beta testers and aren’t being released regionally in a staggered fashion.
