Octapath Traveler 2 introduces a unique enemy known as the Octopuff Travelers. Defeating these foes yields valuable stats, enhances rewards, and provides a large sum of currency. These small, orange octopus-like beings are elusive and pose a challenge to find and conquer. In addition to their uncommon spawn rate, they possess remarkable evasion speed and often retreat during combat.

Your optimal chance of encountering Octopuffs lies near aquatic locales like Canalbrine Bridge, Beasting Bay, and Anchorage.

1. Octopuff Pot

Octopuff Travelers are rare and unique adversaries within the game. These creatures can be found in various locations depending on the specific Octopuff type.

For the first location, finish a side quest and travel to Conning Creek in Octopath Traveler 2. Speak with the Fisherman NPC, who will reward you with the Octopuff Pot.

Proceed to Crossed Paths in Montwise during Ochette’s Chapter 2 for the second location. Completing the “Will Research for Money” side quest from the Octopus Researcher will reward you with another Octopuff Pot.

Lastly, head to Lighthouse Island in The Sundering Sea. Exit the docks and follow the path to find a red chest near some pine trees along the cliff’s edge. Open it to obtain Octopuff Pot x1.

Enhance your odds of encountering Octopuffs by equipping your characters with the Octopuff Pot along with the More Rare Monsters skill. To maximize your profits from each encounter, equip the Bifalgen’s Bounty skill as well.

4. Transform Enemies to Octopuff

With Agnea’s Bewildering Grace, you can potentially convert enemies into Octopuff Travelers. However, keep in mind that this dancer skill applies to normal foes, and the transformation occurs only when your BP is fully charged.

How to Defeat Octopuff Traveler?

Octopuff Travelers are vulnerable to attacks from Swords, Daggers, Axes, and Staff. Despite their low health, their rapid speed and evasion make them difficult to hit. Additionally, they tend to escape battles with ease.

Given these considerations, it’s advisable to include Hikari in your party with the Merciless Blade Skill to ensure Octopuffs do not flee. Furthermore, you can activate Partito or Osvald’s Latent Power to enhance your team’s BP and execute strong single-target attacks.

For guaranteed hits, consider using Elemental Soulstone items or the Hired Help skill. An effective party composition for taking on Octopuff Travelers includes Agnea, Partitio, Temenos, and Ochette. Including Ochette boosts your chances of capturing these creatures by 25 percent.

Octopuff Traveler Rewards

Engaging in the Octopuff Traveler farming grind is one of the most effective methods to level up rapidly in Octopath Traveler 2. The rewards consist of a substantial amount of Leaves, EXP, and JP.

Octopuff Traveler Variants

Before embarking on your quest, it’s essential to know the different types of Octopuffs available. Beyond the standard variant, there are rarer ones such as the Wasteland Octopuff, Island Octopuff, Snowland Octopuff, Queen Octopuff, and King Octopuff, among others.

To tackle the King Octopuff and Queen Octopuff, it’s crucial to significantly enhance your party members’ skills to prepare for these encounters, as both types are found in high-level danger zones.

Be aware that confronting the Queen Octopuff requires navigating through high-level areas with a minimum level requirement of over 20. Similarly, to encounter the King Octopuff, you must traverse regions where the danger level exceeds 45.
