The Sims is filled with diverse locations just waiting for your Sims to explore. Areas like Downtown, Vacation Island, and Magic Town offer plenty of options for entertainment. However, travel in the earlier versions of the game involves a bit more effort compared to later iterations.
This guide will assist you in navigating the best ways to travel in The Sims. While the game itself can be challenging, figuring out how to get around doesn’t require any advanced knowledge—unless you’re aiming for a space journey!
How to Travel
To get around in The Sims, you don’t need to step outside your home. Instead, use a telephone—you’ll typically find one on a table or mounted on the wall, since mobile phones weren’t common when the game was developed.
Follow these steps to travel in The Sims:
- In Live Mode, click on a telephone. If you don’t own one, switch to Buy Mode, and go to the Electronics section. Choose a phone and place it in your home.
- After clicking the telephone, select the Call Cab option. You’ll see several locations to choose from.
- Select your desired location, and a cab will arrive shortly to whisk you away.
- When it’s time to return, use a telephone booth at your current location and choose Call Cab. Look for the option labeled Go Back to head home.
