The characters in Hello Kitty Island Adventure have quite a passion for food! From delicious ice cream to special sodas, you can make a variety of tasty treats using ingredients scattered across the island. Once you reach City Town, you’ll gain access to the Chef’s Station, which you can use to whip up Mochi right away.
This guide will give you all the details about the Chef’s Station in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. We will cover the first items you can prepare, as well as other dishes that will unlock as you progress.
How to Unlock the Chef’s Station
To gain access to the Chef’s Station, you need to first unlock and explore City Town and meet Usahana. After that, you must unlock the Imagination Cafe by completing a quest titled “A Whole New Menu.” To begin this quest, you will need to reach a friendship level of three with Usahana.
This quest involves visiting Hello Kitty and Chococat, and then locating the Colorful Key to unlock the cafe doors. Once you’ve finished the “A Whole New Menu” quest, you’ll be able to start making Mochi immediately. Although the cafe won’t be fully open yet, you are welcome to come and go freely.
Complete Mochi Recipes
Before you can create Mochi, you must first produce some Rice Flour. On the Chef’s Station main menu, you will find the rectangular Rice Flour icon, which allows you to make five servings of flour from one serving of Rice. This step is essential before you can proceed with making any Mochi.
Once you’ve prepared enough Rice Flour, click on the Mochi icon and choose your desired flavor. Unlike other recipes in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Mochi requires only one ingredient apart from the Rice Flour. Below is a list of all the Mochi options available:
Making Dango
Once you reach a friendship level of six with Usahana, you’ll unlock the ability to make Dango. Dango does not have individual recipes; instead, it is determined by the types of Mochi you use. To create one Dango, you will need:
- 1 Stick
- Any three types of Mochi
For example, if you use three Sweet Mochi, you’ll produce Triple Sweet Dango. Combining two different kinds, such as two Sweet and one Spicy Mochi, yields Double Sweet Spicy Dango. If each Mochi is different, the name will reflect all three flavors. If you include a Chocolate Mochi, you’ll create Sweet Spicy Chocolate Dango.
How to Make Boba

When you achieve a friendship level of ten with Usahana and complete the “Tea Time” quest, you’ll unlock Boba. This process differs from the other recipes, as there are many more combinations possible.
To get started, you need to combine Tea Leaves with at least one of the following:
- Coral Milk
- Tapioca
- Honeycomb
Any drink made with Coral Milk will include “Milk” in the name, while drinks containing Tapioca will have “Boba” in the title. If you prepare a drink that contains milk but not Tapioca, it will simply be referred to as milk tea. The quantity of Honeycomb alters the sweetness level denoted in the title:
- No Honeycomb: unsweet
- One Honeycomb: semi-sweet
- Two Honeycomb: sweet
- Three Honeycomb: very sweet

Let’s consider a drink made with the following ingredients:
- 1x Tea Leaves
- 1x Coral Milk
- 2x Honeycomb
- 1x Snowcicle
The resulting drink would be called Sweet Frosty Milk Tea, No Boba! The flavors of the drinks correspond closely to those used in Mochi, which you can explore below.
You’ll learn this process in the “Tea Time” quest as well.
Onigiri & Snow Ice Recipes

Lastly, let’s look at Onigiri and Snow Ice. You can make Onigiri after you get the recipe card, which you can find in the Sewers. To access the Sewers, you must complete the quest “Above and Below.” Onigiri requires Rice, a Seaweed Sheet (crafted from Seaweed found in the Sewers), and one additional ingredient specified in the table below.
Snow Ice becomes available after you complete the quest “Room for Dessert.” To make Snow Ice, you first need to prepare Shaved Ice using one Snowcicle. This recipe is introduced in the quest, so no need to hunt for it separately.
