The Battlefield 6 range finder is an attachment for sniper rifles that fits into the right accessory slot. Its main purpose is to make weapon zeroing easier, but it’s not immediately clear how to use this feature once you unlock and equip it. In practice, it shows up as a prompt on your screen when aiming through the scope, and the controls depend on the platform you’re playing on. While it isn’t an automatic aim feature, it offers a helpful nudge to your shot alignment—probably more than any other sniper accessory, especially if you’re not building for quick-scoping.
To use the range finder on a sniper rifle, aim at your target through the scope and hold down the D-Pad button (or press the B button if you’re using a keyboard), provided you haven’t changed your key settings. After experimenting with it, I found that as you aim at an enemy, the tool gently adjusts your aim slightly toward the center mass of the target. This small help makes hitting your shots easier, especially on close distances. It’s a subtle assist, but valuable when fighting fast-moving enemies or in duel situations on larger Battlefield 6 maps, particularly in crossplay mode when facing mouse-and-keyboard opponents.
However, because it tends to pull your aim toward the enemy’s body, it might not help much for headshots unless you aim slightly over their head when activating the feature. Still, by increasing damage output to quickly drop most enemies, the range finder can turn sniper rifles into some of the most effective weapons in Battlefield 6.
