Red Star Rings (often abbreviated as RSR) are the primary form of currency in Sonic Speed Simulator on Roblox. You can use them for various purposes, including fusing Chao, getting new Trails, upgrading Characters, and gathering sets of your favorite Fast Friends, among other things.
With numerous uses for Red Star Rings, it’s easy to run low on them, but don’t worry! We’ve compiled the best strategies for earning more Red Star Rings in the game, including some ideas you may not have considered. Once you read through these tips, you’ll be on your way to collecting tons of RSR in no time!
How To Find Red Star Rings
Red Star Rings are scattered across all worlds in the game. Each Zone hides 25 Red Star Rings, and finding one adds 10 RSR to your collection. With 14 different Zones in total, there are 3,500 RSR available to pick up! Once you grab a Red Star Ring, it’s counted as collected and won’t appear in that same spot again.
Complete Events
Events are sets of tasks that you must complete to earn Characters, Mounts, and other rewards. Each Event typically includes a generous amount of Red Star Rings, usually around 2,000 RSR, alongside the main prize.
Each Zone features a permanent Event that you can tackle at any time. These Events usually remain available in the game and are generally related to the area where they’re located. For instance, in Hill Top, you’ll find an Event called Marnie’s Journey, where you need to collect Chao Fruit. Completing this Event rewards you with Marnie the Raccoon and 2,000 RSR.
Some permanent Events might offer a smaller sum of RSR but tend to be easier to complete.
In addition to permanent Events, Seasonal and Limited Events also occur. These are available for a limited time, typically lasting two weeks to a month, and include unique collectibles or enemies to interact with during the Event. Completing these events guarantees 2,000 RSR and exclusive Characters you can only acquire while the Event runs.
Open Golden Eggs
As you run through the game at high speeds, each step counts toward opening a Golden Egg. You can find these in the Shop, and opening one can yield various rewards, including Red Star Rings. This makes it a great way to passively earn RSR while playing since you don’t have to do anything extra to benefit. After you open 50 Golden Eggs, you’ll unlock the option to open three Premium Eggs, which have a higher chance of giving you Limited Characters.
Farm Golden Eggs
To maximize your chances of obtaining Golden Eggs, go to a flat rail, which allows you to maintain speed without slowing down. By using the flat rail at Metal City Skatepark, you can continuously boost your speed without any loss. Start by getting up to 655 Speed, the maximum you can achieve on the rail. Afterward, stay put until a Golden Egg notification appears. Wait for the next one to come, and keep repeating this process.
You can expect to open Golden Eggs every few minutes!
Fast Pass Rewards
Engaging with the Fast Pass system presents players with chances to earn Red Star Rings as well. You can gain these, along with Characters, Trails, and Chao, by completing challenges related to different Zones.
Spin For Red Star Rings
Every four hours, you are able to spin the Spinner. When you do, there is an 8% chance of landing on a prize of 200 RSR. Be sure to make this spin regularly!
Auto-Run Rewards
The Auto-run feature in the game lets your character automatically gather Rings and XP. Every five minutes, you’ll earn 10 RSR, making this a simple but slower method to accumulate Red Star Rings. You could even leave the game running overnight to collect rewards.
Spend Race Tickets
Participating in Races earns you Race Tickets, which you can use to buy Red Star Rings directly. However, this isn’t the most efficient method, so we suggest saving your tickets for Characters instead, unless you’re in urgent need of RSR.
Trade With Others
The Sonic Speed Simulator community is known for being friendly and supportive, making it an excellent platform for trades. If you have Characters, Chao, or Trails that you don’t need, you can trade these for RSR—a consistent way to grow your collection. Participating in Races is a reliable method to gain Characters if you need to trade.
Make New Accounts
If you feel like you’ve exhausted everything and are just grinding for RSR, consider creating a new Roblox account. This way, you can start fresh and gather characters and rewards again. This can be particularly beneficial during events, as limited-time Characters can be worth a lot of RSR and you’ll still earn the event completion bonuses.
Purchase Red Star Rings Directly
If you’re in a hurry to acquire Red Star Rings, you have the option to buy them outright. In Green Hill Zone, you’ll find podiums near the Fast Friend Vending Machine where you can purchase Red Star Rings using Robux. While it’s typically better to spend Robux on Characters or Gamepasses that can enhance your gameplay, this option is available for those who need RSR quickly.
