Overview of No Cross Mode in Sniper Elite: Resistance

In Sniper Elite: Resistance, several multiplayer modes are available, but none capture the essence of the series quite like No Cross Mode. In this mode, two teams are stationed at opposite ends of an impassable No Man’s Land, making sniping the main form of gameplay.

This unique setup results in a distinct flow of the game that players familiar with other modes might find challenging to navigate initially. It’s easy to accidentally hinder both your own and your team’s performance. Here are some strategies to be a valuable asset to your squad.

Understanding No Cross Mode

  • The match consists of two halves of gameplay.
  • Each half lasts for ten minutes.
  • Teams switch sides at the end of each half to experience both areas of the map.
  • A total of 50 kills is required for a match victory.

It’s worth noting that matches often conclude due to time restrictions rather than reaching the kill limit. Upon dying, players face a brief respawn timer and can adjust their loadout between lives, significantly impacting their effectiveness in the game.

Utilizing Your Third-Person Perspective

Sniper Elite: Resistance is played primarily from a third-person perspective, which can be strategically advantageous. This viewpoint allows players to peek around corners while remaining hidden from enemy snipers. Taking the time to observe the battlefield will give you insights into enemy positions without exposing yourself.

Keeping an Eye Out for Tracers and Glints

From your vantage point, focus on spotting sniper glints and bullet tracers. A glint resembles a flash from a camera, while a bullet tracer guides you to the source of a shot, albeit briefly.

It’s useful to align your shot as best as possible from your third-person view before switching to scope mode. This minimizes the time spent exposed and allows for a quicker follow-up shot.

Avoid Long Scope Time

Remaining down the scope for extended periods can be risky; the sniper’s glare gives away your location. Make your shots swiftly—don’t linger unnecessarily in sniper mode. Aim to shoot then retreat swiftly to cover. This way, your opponents must accurately aim and time their shots perfectly to hit you.

Familiarize Yourself with Safe Angles

To maximize safety while aiming, minimize your exposure by taking positions where enemy sights are blocked. Often, going prone helps conceal your presence, allowing you to maintain a good view while making it challenging for enemies to spot you. Consider positioning yourself behind cover, staying low, and using side angles to limit exposure.

Reposition After Being Spotted

If you take out one or more enemies, or sense any adversaries know your position, it’s wise to relocate even if it’s to a nearby area. Once an enemy has been taken down and respawned, they might anticipate your location based on your last shot. Taking the initiative to move not only keeps you alive but complicates their efforts to line up another shot on you.

The Smart Use of Explosives

The map is dotted with explosive barrels, marked in red. These can often be more useful than directly targeting enemies. Many players might neglect their surroundings, placing themselves near explosives instead of always seeking cover. Engaging these explosives can yield efficient results without the need for risky head-to-head combat.

The High Value of Each Kill

In No Cross matches, scores tend to be low, often not reaching the limit of 50 kills. This makes each kill particularly valuable. It’s crucial to protect your character; while risks can lead to rewards, staying alive is often more beneficial than acting recklessly. Approach the game more tactically rather than treating it like action-packed titles like Call of Duty.

Reviving Teammates

Any chance to revive teammates should be taken. Players who are down will bleed out rather than outright die, providing an opportunity for timely rescues. Typically, allies downed within 100 meters are accessible for a swift revival. Sprinting often takes you safely to them, but be cautious of potential enemy ambushes.

Exercise Patience in Gameplay

In No Cross, gameplay tends to take on a more leisurely pace, which may reward players who remain patient. Many opponents may take unwarranted risks, such as remaining exposed after being spotted. While it’s tempting to capitalize on their mistakes, it’s best to approach each situation with measured caution. Ensure you gain at least one kill per life—doing so consistently benefits your team significantly.

The experience in No Cross will gradually enhance your familiarity with map layouts and typical player camp spots. Over time, you’ll become adept at punishing others for mistakes you’ve learned to avoid.
