Marathon Release Date: When Will It Be Available?

The release date for Marathon has finally been announced as early March, so it’s not long before you can explore the dangerous surface of Tau Ceti. With the official date revealed, pre-orders are now live for this sci-fi extraction shooter. Bungie has also shared the voice cast, featuring some familiar voices from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur. Here’s everything you need to know about when Marathon will be available and when you can start playing.

When will Marathon be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox?
The game is set to launch on March 5, 2025, as confirmed in a pre-order trailer. This date was previously leaked after the trailer appeared on the game’s official Xbox club page.

Regarding the exact time for the game to be playable, that info hasn’t been released yet. Based on Destiny 2’s reset schedule, it’s likely to be around 5 or 6 p.m. UTC on March 5—roughly 9 a.m. PST, 12 p.m. EST, or 5 p.m. GMT. We’ll update this with precise timing once it’s confirmed.

Pre-orders for Marathon are now open, and the trailer offers some rewards for early buyers. These include a weapon charm, a weapon stick, a background, and an emblem, plus some Destiny 2 content like a Ghost Shell, ship, and Sparrow linked to your Bungie.net account. You can also buy the standard game, or opt for the Deluxe or Collector’s editions. The Deluxe includes additional cosmetic rewards, a Premium Rewards Pass Voucher, 200 Silk Reward Pass Tokens, two weapon styles, and four Runner Shell styles. The Collector’s edition comes as a physical set with a scale model of the Thief Runner Shell, a collectible WEAVEworm, postcards, digital extras, and more.

Bungie has cast some notable voice actors for Marathon, including Roger Clark from Red Dead Redemption 2, Ben Starr and Jennifer English from Clair Obscur Expedition 33, and Neil Newbon and Samantha Béart from Baldur’s Gate 3, among others.
