As one of the early quests, the Beloved Cat mission might seem straightforward, designed to help you navigate the game world. However, the elusive cat is genuinely missing, and it’s up to you to track it down.
How to Begin the Beloved Cat Quest
After your initial adventure with Uzra, where you team up with Cheryl and navigate through the Midi Toy Box in Vence, you will acquire the Warp Device. This device allows you to quickly travel back to previously explored areas. Leo’s first move will be to grab a delicious omelet in Vence, which conveniently opens up a new quest for you.
Fantasian makes it easy by marking previously visited areas on the world map that contain unclaimed quests.
In En, head to the Old District, near Owen’s house, and take the path at the lower left. There, you’ll find a man lamenting about his lost cat. Speak to him to initiate the quest.
Where to Locate the Missing Cat
After your chat, the man will ask for your assistance in finding his lost cat, though he won’t provide much insight on where to look. Speaking to him again reveals that he has searched both the Old District and the mountain path leading to the New District. Therefore, you’ll need to check out the New District and the Harbour.
However, this can be misleading. The missing cat is not located in these areas; instead, you’ll need to gather an item from the Mountain Path to convince this elusive feline to return. So, make your way there.
Once in the Mountain Path, navigate to the open area on the left. Just southwest of a chest, you’ll notice some blocks shimmering. Interact with them to collect the Piranhara Bones. According to the item’s description, these smelly bones are just what you need to entice the cat back home.
Now, travel to the New District and head into the narrow alleyway between the general store and Sid’s bar. You might not have thought to check here for the cat, but this area is vital as it’s inaccessible until you undertake this quest. Enter the alley now.
This will take you behind a house. With little else to do, step inside. You’ll find two cats lounging inside, and one of them is the Beloved Cat you’re looking for. If you approach it while holding the Piranhara Bones, it will run home, allowing you to return to the quest giver with good news.
Don’t forget to grab the five Energy Drinks and 1,000 Gold from the chests before you leave.
Rewards for Completing the Beloved Cat Quest
The grateful man will reward you with an Iron Key and 1,200 Gold upon the safe return of his beloved cat. While this may not seem like a lot considering the effort, at least it’s a reward. Hopefully, he’ll be more attentive to his furry friend from now on.
