In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there’s an endless array of activities, from stopping evil plots to tending gardens alongside your buddies. Your mission is to maintain harmony in the village, no matter which beloved Disney or Pixar character shows up. The Storybook Vale Expansion will truly challenge your diplomatic skills as you find yourself acting as the mediator between Hades and Maleficent.
Additionally, you’ll need to lend a hand to other villagers who are caught up in the chaos. One of your major tasks involves dealing with the Wolf of the Wilds, a concern for Merida. We’ll guide you on how to track it down and tackle the Fairy Tale Trial that awaits you in the woods.
How to Unlock the Wild Woods
To embark on this adventure, you’ll first need to unlock the Wild Woods, located to the west of the Library of Lore. This enchanting mushroom forest is full of whimsy but holds dark secrets within its marshes. A sinister howl can even be heard from outside its borders.
Merida will caution you about the dangers ahead but will assist you in gaining access to the area by clearing away inkies, provided you have accumulated at least 2,000 Story Magic.
Gather more Story Magic by completing tasks throughout Storybook Vale!
Once the area is accessible, feel free to explore at will. Just be careful and watch for baby dragons—they can pack quite a bite!
Where to Find the Fairy Tale Trial
After entering the Wild Woods, head across the river to the southwest corner of the area. Here, you will encounter several inkies blocking the path along a winding slope. Clear them out to uncover the trail leading to the first Fairy Tale Trial.
Once you locate it, report back to the Lorekeeper. She will encourage you to seek assistance from Merida before taking on this task, as it’s much safer not to face it alone.
When you consult Merida, she will accompany you back to the Wild Woods and warn you about the wolf that roams there. You’ll discover a trail of paw prints that leads down to the Trial site, indicating the wolf’s disruptive presence.
Where to Find the Missing Wheel
Speak with Merida once more to discover that the spinning wheel needed to open the Trial is nowhere to be found. It appears the wolf has taken it! You’ll need to retrieve it and return it to its rightful place to access the portal.
Look for tracks on the ground and follow them behind the Trial site to a lively purple bush on your left. There, you’ll find the wheel hidden within the thorns. Interact with it to add it to your inventory, then bring it back to its designated spot.
After placing the wheel back on its pedestal, use your Royal Net to activate it. This will open the portal to the Fairy Tale Trial and complete the quest.
