Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a delightful remaster of the original PC game, showcasing the best elements of its predecessor without unnecessary content. The game features a handful of side quests, making it a compact yet engaging experience.
One of these side quests tasks you with assisting Aida. While she doesn’t clearly outline her needs, the following steps will help you restore some peace to her life.
Where to Find Aida
Redmont serves as the central hub of Oath in Felghana, where many NPCs reside. You’ll find Aida here, in her home on the lower level, right across from the inn and next to the water. Initially, she can be quite dismissive, repeatedly asking you to leave.
Everything changes when you decide to explore the Abandoned Mine; at this point, a green exclamation mark will appear above her head, signaling that she has a quest for you. She mentions her desire for a keepsake of Bob’s to remember him by, giving you a minimal yet clear goal.
Note that quests in Oath in Felghana don’t have a log, so stay alert to remember their details.
Finding Bob’s Pendant
Earlier, Aida spoke about her grandson, who tragically died in a mining accident at Tigray Quarry. Since you’ll soon have to explore the Abandoned Mine, now is the time to visit Tigray Quarry.
You may remember seeing Bob’s Pendant during your first trip to the Quarry, but couldn’t reach it. Here are the directions to retrieve it:
- From the entrance, turn right until you reach the main mining shaft.
- Drop down to the bottom, then take the exit on the right.
- In this room, go all the way left until you can climb a set of stairs to the next area.
- In the next area, head left until you see a collapsed bridge.
Now you need to cross the gap. There are two ways to do this, but one is your only option right now. Equip the Ventus Bracelet and charge it. Jump across the gap, using the Ventus Bracelet to carry you to the other side. This allows you to collect Bob’s Pendant and return to Aida.
You can also obtain the double jump ability later on to reach Bob’s Pendant without using the Ventus Bracelet.
Rewards for Assisting Aida
When you return to Aida, you’ll find Elena comforting her as they discuss her grandson’s passing. Speak to Aida, and for the first time in the game, she smiles. Although her grandson is still gone, she now has a keepsake to remember him by.
As a thank you for helping her through this tough time, Aida gifts you a new accessory, the Nightfire Jewel. This item provides light in dark areas and reveals illusions around you. It’s particularly useful in the upcoming Abandoned Mine, where Ricardo advises you to obtain a light source.
