Hellblade 2 will soon be available on PlayStation 5 along with the original game, so players can experience Senua’s entire journey on the console. Developed by Ninja Theory, now owned by Xbox, the game continues the story from Senua’s Sacrifice, which was first released on PS4 in 2017. In that game, Senua struggled to reclaim her husband’s lost soul.
The sequel, Hellblade 2, picks up with Senua traveling to Iceland, and PS5 gamers will finally get to follow her new adventure. Here’s what you should know about Hellblade 2 coming to PS5.
When will Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 be released on PS5?
Both Hellblade 2 and the first game will be available on PS5 starting August 12, 2025, at 8 a.m. UTC — which is 1 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, 4 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, and 9 a.m. British Summer Time. Now, fans can play both titles on PS5 as well as on Xbox, including through Xbox Game Pass and Steam.
These games are relatively short. The length of Hellblade 2 suggests you can finish it in just a few days or a couple of gaming sessions. If you’re planning to dive into the new game, it might be helpful to look at some tips beforehand, especially since there are puzzles and combat moments that can be tricky, and the game doesn’t always give clear guidance.
Since Xbox has a history of bringing some of their smaller titles to other platforms, people are wondering if Hellblade 2 and the original might also come to Switch 2, but there’s currently no official news about that.
