The Digifarm makes a return in Digimon Story: Time Stranger and remains one of the best ways to improve your Digimon’s stats. It’s a globe-shaped area that you can customize and redesign to look how you want—creating deserts, forests, icy wastelands, or even an endless ocean.
While decorating your Digifarm is fun, its main purpose is to passively train your Digimon. This process boosts their stats, helping them unlock new Digivolutions. Here’s everything you should know about the Digifarm—how to unlock it and what you can do there.
### How To Unlock The Digifarm
You unlock the Digifarm fairly early in the game, shortly after defeating the second boss, Raremon. After a few cutscenes, you’ll need to find a mysterious location in the back alleys of Shinjuku. Eventually, you’ll discover a door to the In-Between Theater. When you arrive, talk to Mirei Mikagura at the counter, and you’ll gain access to the Digifarm.
### Everything You Can Do In The Digifarm
The Digifarm is a personal world where you can place your Digimon to relax or train. Digimon placed here will continue to gain experience, so you can store them safely without worrying about falling behind. However, they cannot participate in battles while in the farm.
When placing a Digimon in the Digifarm, you can choose the area in which it can roam freely. Limiting it to a single tile makes the Digimon stay in one spot. You can support up to 30 Digimon at once, and you can have up to 250 decorations to personalize your farm.
There are three main activities in the Digifarm, which we’ll explore below.
### Decoration And Unlocking Items For The Digifarm
You can decorate your Digifarm freely—by changing the layout of the tiles or placing decorative items on them. Keep in mind that island tiles and decorations are purely cosmetic; they don’t affect training outcomes. Feel free to personalize your farm however you like.
New decorations can be obtained either as rewards for completing main or side quests or by crafting them at Zudomon’s smithy in Central Town. To craft decorations, you’ll need materials gathered from the world or received periodically from the Digifarm itself. The available decorations improve as you complete side quests involving Zudomon.
### Raising Digimon
The central feature of the Digifarm is raising your Digimon. There are two ways to do this: feeding them Digifood to boost their Bond level, or training them to increase their stats and change their personality.
Bond level influences how many stats they keep when Digivolving. Bond can also be improved gradually through battles and conversations via the Digiline, although this is slower. Training your Digimon is the primary activity—you use Training Sets, which usually take 30 minutes to complete in real-time. This can be sped up using certain Agent Skills or instantly finished by spending Yen. Higher-tier Training Sets require more time.
Training Sets can be used repeatedly, but you can only have as many active at once as you possess. For example, if you want two Digimon to train with the Punching Bag C set, you need two copies of it.
Using a Training Set boosts specific stats and shifts the Digimon’s personality in the chosen direction. If you want a significant personality change, you might need to use the same set multiple times. The highest tier, Training Set C, won’t change personality at all, making it ideal if you’re satisfied with your Digimon’s personality but want to increase their stats.
### How To Get Training Sets
Training Sets can be acquired from quest rewards or treasure chests, but the most dependable way is to craft them yourself at Zudomon’s smithy in Central Town. Each set requires various resources—including consumable items, materials, and sometimes decorations, which can also be crafted at the smithy. Gathering these resources involves exploring the world, and in many cases, you’ll also receive some from the Digifarm periodically.
The availability of Training Sets will grow as you complete specific side quests involving Zudomon, giving you access to more options as your relationship deepens.
